Thanksgiving Blessings

Halloween Fun

Prior to Halloween, we took Jamie3 to pick out a pumpkin. He picked out a great one and wanted to carry it by himself. I just knew that he would take 3 steps, drop it, and have pumpkin pieces scattered everywhere! Thankfully, the pumpkin arrived home in one piece. For Halloween this year, Jamie2 suggested that Jamie3 be a golfer and Jamie2 could be his caddy. I think the outfits turned out pretty cute. Although you can't see it, I ironed our last name on the back of Jamie2's jumpsuit for that extra touch! Here is Jamie3 making sure his golf swing is up to par! :)

The Jamie3/Jamie2 combination came in 3rd in my company's costume contest. Here is Jamie3 showing his prize...a neat toy top that spins.

On the night of Halloween, it rained a lot. I was able to take this one picture during a break in the weather. Jamie3 and Jamie2 went trick-or-treating at a few houses and, of course, Jamie3 wanted to eat all of his candy before he returned home!

Happy Halloween 2009!

Trip to Wild Dunes

In September I had a work conference in Charleston and I was fortunate to be able to bring Jamie3, Jamie2 and Jamie2's parents. We stayed in a beautiful place at Wild Dunes. Here is a photo of the kitchen which had a large refrigerator, oven, and flat top stove. You can also see the dining area in the background. The curtains are partially closed; however, on two sides of the dining area there is a wrap around porch.
Here is the family area with a nice couch, chairs and flat-screen television.
The guest bedroom was nicely decorated and had 2 twin sized beds and a desk. The guest bathroom was great too!
Here is a photo of the master bathroom with a full garden tub and, out of view, a stand up shower.
The master bedroom was great as well. I was really impressed with this 2 bedroom suite!

Jamie3 really enjoyed going out on the porch . . .
. . . and playing with his matchbox cars.
The weather was beautiful and, because it was September, the beach was not crowded. Jamie3 was able to play in the sand . . .
. . . and relax on the beach!
After the beach, a bath was in order. Jamie3 looks a bit like a Sumo wrestler here.

While I was in meetings, Jamie3 went with Jamie2, Grams, and Poppy to the Charleston Aquarium. Here they are outside the Aquarium with the new Charleston bridge in the background.

It was nice to get away for a family vacation!

Braden's First Birthday

Jamie3's cousin, Braden, recently celebrated his first birthday. He had a big cupcake cake for all of his guests.... ...and one smaller cake for him to enjoy! Braden and Jamie3 enjoyed playing with the soccer ball before cake time!

Jamie3's other cousins, Jack and Julia, enjoyed watching Braden eat cake for the first time!

Later, all 4 cousins got together to make music and celebrate the day!

Surgery Day

Jamie3 recently had a second set of ear tubes put in and also had his adenoids taken out. Here he is in his cute little surgery gown getting his oxygen level taken. He also had time before surgery to play in the waiting area.
The nurses then wheeled Jamie3 in for surgery...even allowing him to take along his stuffed animal and taggie for comfort.
Jamie3 did really well with the surgery. The surgery took place a little over a month ago and he has been sleeping through the night ever since. I don't think Jamie3 slept through the night for more than a week at a time prior to the surgery. I feel like a new person....one that sleeps 8 hours a night now! Yeah!

Trip to the Children's Museum

The Children's Museum of the Upstate recently opened so Jamie2 and I took Jamie3 to explore. They had a space shuttle simulator which Jamie3 tried to navigate for about a minute.....
....before Jamie2 took over. On Jamie2's attempt to land the space shuttle, he crashed! There was no time for a second try because there were a lot of children waiting to have a turn.

Jamie3 then moved over to the race car for a spin around the track.
Next up....the music garage where Jamie3 and the other children could make noise! Jamie3 enjoyed making music!
I think Jamie3's favorite part of the museum was the water play area. Thankfully, they had cute little aprons for the children to wear so they would not get too wet.
Although the goal of the next exhibit was to show children how to conserve water, I used the big toothbrush and set of teeth as an opportunity to remind Jamie3 how to brush his teeth!
Do you remember playing with Lite Brite's growing up? I think that was one of my favorite activities. The Children's Museum had a giant sized Lite Brite for the children to play with....Jamie3 had a blast in this area too!
The Children's Museum had a Bi-lo supermarket where children could go around, put groceries in their cart, and check out the groceries with a scanner. Jamie3 chose to head to the bakery and decorate a cake! A carrot cake perhaps!
One of the last exhibits that Jamie3 toured was the giant stomach which showed children how food was digested. Jamie3 took this opportunity to slide down the intestines!
Jamie2, Jamie3 and I had a great time at the Children's Museum and we look forward to taking Jamie3 there again!

Birthday Party Fun

Jamie3 was recently invited to a birthday party for a sweet friend, Tessa, who was turning 2! Jamie3 had a great time playing with all of the water toys.... splashing around....
and playing on the slip 'n slide!

After all of the water fun, Jamie3 sang "Happy Birthday" to Tessa and watched her blow out her candles.
He then had time for a photo op with Tessa and her other sweet friends. (I'm sure he liked the boy to girl ratio too!)
Overall, he had a very enjoyable Summer day with his friends!
